The ones people ask most.
Yes, a Mac. Drift runs on the Mac and moves the iPhone over a cable. Once a place is holding, the cable can come out and the place stays.
No. Nothing is installed on your iPhone and no files on it are changed. Drift uses Developer Mode, a switch in the iPhone's own Settings.
Any iPhone on iOS 17.4 or newer, plugged into the Mac with a cable, with Developer Mode turned on. Drift walks you through turning that on the first time. The iPhone restarts once when you do.
All of them. Drift sets the position the iPhone itself reports, so Maps, Weather, Siri and everything installed are offered the same place. Whether an app uses it is up to that app. In our test, Maps, Siri, Weather, Life360 and Snapchat all showed the new place.
Press Stop. Your iPhone goes back to reading its own position within about three minutes. With no computer to hand, restart the iPhone.
Give it a minute and press Restore purchase on the paywall. Make sure you signed in with the same Google account you paid with. Switched Macs? Sign in on the new one and restore there.

The iPhone stays where Drift put it. Drift writes a marker on the Mac before it moves anything, so the next time it opens it names the place the phone is still reporting and offers to put it right.
Nowhere. Your places, plans and settings stay in a folder on the Mac. Map tiles, place search and routing come from public OpenStreetMap services, the same as any map app.
Not yet. Windows is next, on the same core. Android is not planned.
Drift does not touch your Apple ID or any app's account. Some apps and games look for a simulated location and may restrict an account that uses one. That is their call, and Drift does nothing to hide from it.
